Reading this article really touched an angry nerve in me at the total absence of appreciation for relationships. I hope that the author's example of text messaging a break-up is eluding to teenage break-ups, and not adult relationships. These are two entirely different ballgames.
Adult relationships involve intense feelings, families, and many factors that makes a face to face communication of a desire to end the relationship a necessity. If you are the one who has decided the partnership needs to end, you need to consider the consequences of your decision on everyone involved. Realize that the emotions of others can be devastated, and be prepared to offer alternatives to how they can adjust to the changes.
