Having an article about the history of the American flag on a fruit and garden web site, brings out a very unique idea of the appreciation we should have for those throughout history who have made it possible for us to continue flying this flag with honor.
It is the sacrifice of the many who have served under this flag that enables us to own a piece of land where we are free to grow whatever we want to.
Thinking of these freedoms brings to mind how many Americans had a renewed vengeance for flying the flag after the disaster of 9/11. We saw flags flying on people's homes and more than half of the cars going down the highway in honor of the freedom we have.
