There are many benefits of praying for others. First, it creates a sense of love for your fellow human. By praying for others, you put yourself in their shoes by bringing their problems before your god. It makes you feel the pain and sins of others and asking your higher power to forgive, protect and direct the lives of those you are praying for. Praying with others in mind helps to promote peace and goodwill, especially when one does not discriminate who they pray for. There are many religious people who even pray for their enemies.
Praying for others is a huge part of most religions. Christians, Muslims, Jews and Hindus all pray in different ways, but they all pray for the wellbeing of those that they care for. In the Christian religion, for example, Christ commanded His followers to intercede in prayers for one another, even if they were enemies. He also encouraged His followers to pray for their leaders, their societies, and also their brothers' keepers. Praying for others creates a sense of fulfillment and obedience to a person's religion.
Praying for others also implies praying for yourself, because when you pray for others, it is also believed that you are been interceded for. It shows everyone that you are a truly good person who is unselfish. But the benefit is not just looking good in front of others on Earth, but also proving yourself to be true to the teachings of whichever religion you may follow.
