Hearing the anger that people are voicing toward others in the media lately makes me wonder where our society is headed.
The respect for others that our ancestors had over the years just seems to be totally gone.
When a Senator can blatantly disrespect the president of the United States on the senate floor, it makes the disrespect shown to Taylor Swift at VMA awards show sound trivial. We are a country built on Christian principals so where is the love for our fellowman?
For several months after the terrorist attacks of 9-11 on our country you could feel this nation pulling together, but now that is simply a distant memory.
I believe that the crucial action in this transformation of attitudes was the fact that following this tragedy, our people were reconnecting with God. There were prayer groups all over the country coming together to pray for our nation. The good will of people helping people was everywhere.
The devastation of our economy has people in such a destitute state, that we feel like we have to put all of our efforts into keeping ourselves afloat, leaving us no time to consider the welfare of others.
Seeing the turn in attitudes our leaders has everyone living in fear of what may happen next.
I feel that we may well be headed for a revolution. Hearing our President apologize to other countries for us being America has to make you wonder how he can expect them to maintain any form of respect for us.
If we as a country turn our backs on our Creator, we can expect nothing less than chaos.
We need ti reach out in prayer and follow our Savior's example of loving the unlovable and find ways of helping our fellowman on this journey called life.
