Eudemonic

What an interesting word? It sounds like something a little witch crafty, but it actually means, happy making. Hearing this seldom used word has gotten me to thinking of the many opportunities we have to make our lives happy.

Color can help do this. Everyone seems to have a favorite color. One that makes you feel good whether you are wearing it, or if you are in a room that is painted this color. If you want to be in the "make yourself happy business", make sure you have at least a small amount of this color in view at all times. It can be an accessory to your wardrobe, or just a shelf what-not in your home or office.

We have the ability to choose the attitude with which we approach life. We can do many different things to make sure that the environment we choose to be in is one that will promote happy feelings. If you happen to work in an office with no window to view the openness of the world, or causes a lack of light, then create a view you enjoy with pictures, and add extra lamps to improve the lighting.

The way we react to people or situations in life has a great impact on our state of happiness. The reaction we choose to have towards others, can not only improve our happiness level, it may also be a means of improving the attitudes of those around us.

When we choose to be eudemonic we are choosing to make sure that no matter what we encounter in life, we are going to strive for a happy medium in all we do.
