Hospital stays are never pleasant. You are held captive to the schedules of the staff. You may have a buzzer on your bed so you can call for a nurse, but that is no assurance they will come to see what you need in a timely manner.
When you get the chance to tell the nurse what you need, half the time they get busy with other patients and forget about what you needed.
I have learned that it is best to have a family member or a friend be there with you so they can get what you need or at least go to the nurse's station for you to remind them what you needed.
