Alfred Eienstaedt frequently used 35 mm Leica M3 range finder cameras.
He became a professional photographer in 1929, and was hired by Life magazine in 1936.
His vacations on Martha's Vineyard were a priority ti him, even causing him to leave an assignment early so he could arrive for his vacation on time.
On his vacations in the Vineyard, he would do experiments in photography using various lenses, filters, and prisms. He never used anything but natural lighting however,
Eienstaedt's last photo session was a private one done with Bill and Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton in August of 1993. this was well documented by his close friend William E. Marks.
