Angel Tree Charity
Throughout the world live many children who are not born into families
fortunate enough to be able to celebrate Christmas with presents. For
whatever reason, Christmas comes and goes and these kids often get
nothing. Angel Tree charity programs
seek to put some of the fun back into Christmas for these kids. The
program works by placing a large Christmas tree in a relatively high
traffic place such as a mall or a large church lobby. The tree is
decorated entirely with angel ornaments. Each ornament, upon closer
inspection, has the name of a needy child. The ornament also includes
the likes and dislikes of the child.
If you are interested in helping a child through the angel tree charity program, take an angel from a tree and purchase gifts according to the wishes on the back.
Often these gifts will be small, so it is often a good idea to include
other useful items in addition to the requested present. Every child
could use new socks and underwear, and toothbrush and toothpaste.
Including candy is probably not a good idea. The child might be
allergic to the candy, or the gift could spoil. Also, it is a good idea
to encourage good nutrition, and candy does not really facilitate this.
Depending on the age of the child your choice of a gift could vary greatly.
This is why examining the back of several angels is a good idea. Try to
imagine what you'll buy for the child before actually choosing one. The
Angel Tree charity program is a great way to brighten a needy child's
Christmas.
